Product Description

An explosion-proof lighting switch is a specially designed electrical switch used to control lighting in hazardous environments where flammable gases, vapors, dust, or fibers may be present. It is constructed with a sealed, heavy-duty enclosure-typically made of cast aluminum or stainless steel-that can contain any internal sparks or explosions and prevent them from igniting the surrounding atmosphere. The housing is engineered to withstand internal pressure and cool escaping gases so that external ignition cannot occur. Explosion-proof lighting switches are commonly installed in industries such as oil and gas, chemical plants, mining, marine facilities, and grain processing plants.
